Carrington Charitable Foundation: Special Olympics Recap
Carrington and Vylla Associates came out in force to show their company pride and support of the Special Olympics Summer Games on June 8-9, 2024, at Cal State Long Beach in Long Beach, CA. The Summer Games is one of four annual championships held at the conclusion of each sport season, with athletes coming together throughout Southern California. CCF sponsored the event at the $10,000/Major Sponsor level.
Julie Beamish, SVP, Head of Vylla Home, was there to assist, joined by 25 Carrington and Vylla Associates who volunteered to support hundreds of local Special Olympics athletes who competed for gold, silver and bronze medals and ribbons in track & field, basketball, bocce, flag football, swimming and Unified Bocce. Along with the sport venues, the Games included live music, games, law enforcement and sponsor booths, free health screenings for athletes through Healthy Athletes, skills demonstrations and more. Once again, our Associates were thrilled to be a part of the excitement.
“Since 2012, CCF has provided essential support to this respected nonprofit, helping make it possible for Special Olympics Summer athletes to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in sharing the gift of friendship and community,” says Julie. “Our Associates tell us that this is one of the most inspiring and rewarding volunteer opportunities in which we have an opportunity to participate, and they look forward to it every year.”
