Carrington Charitable Foundation’s 12th Annual Golf Classic Recap

Distinguished Veteran guests took center stage as the Carrington Charitable Foundation (CCF) held its 12th Annual Golf Classic on October 14, 2024, at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, CA. The event raised money benefitting CCF’s Signature Programs that support combat wounded American Veterans and its initiatives that enable Mobility, Stability, Purpose and Prosperity for U.S. servicemen and women returning from post-9/11 battlefields. In total, 260 golfers participated, and the event culminated in a dinner and auction attended by more than 500 people.

“For so many years, it has been a tremendous honor for us to organize this event and we are grateful that so many donors, partners, friends and families are able to gather in person to celebrate Veterans,” says Rosemary Rose, Chairman, Carrington Charitable Foundation. “The proceeds from this tournament provide essential support as we expand CCF programs assisting the Veterans and their families who have so proudly served our country. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to help change their lives for the better.”

Since 2011, the CCF Golf Classic, together with its React 2020 and 2021 virtual events, has raised  money for CCF’s  Signature Programs, which provide diverse ongoing assistance to Veterans and their families. In addition to an inspiring day of golf, the event featured an evening banquet and auction, during which attendees bid on a wide variety of items donated by Carrington associates and sponsors. The highlight of the event was Veterans and enthusiastic supporters speaking passionately about the importance of the CCF’s ongoing mission.

Honored Veteran guests at this year’s Golf Classic included U.S. Marine Corps Corporal Michael Jernigan; U.S. Army Sergeant Matthew Melancon; U.S. Army Master Sergeant John Masson; U.S. Army Specialist Jack Zimmerman and U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills, who served as emcee for the evening program.

During the evening portion of the event, Bruce Rose, Founder and Chairman of The Carrington Companies, introduced Vector Accelerator, a program produced by The Honor Foundation and funded by Carrington Charitable Foundation. Vector Accelerator is designed to provide a clear process transition from military to civilian lives for the more than 225,000 Veterans who retire each year after military service. The virtual, on-demand program guides participants through modules designed to help them gain clarity on their identity, motivations, strengths and priorities so that they can pursue their next mission in life with confidence and conviction.

The fast-paced evening program also included a silent and live auction. Featured speakers included Bobby Land, who retired from the U.S. Army after a 30-year career as a Green Beret. Bobby, a graduate of The Honor Foundation and part of the Senior Management Associate program, is now Product Innovation Manager with Carrington Mortgage Holdings.

“We all have a responsibility to secure our nation’s freedom for generations to come,” says Bobby. “That starts with making sure Veteran families have the security and stability that is essential for them to thrive. I am eternally grateful for what CCF has done for me and my family.”
